I really do not like visiting the dentist. Can you help me?

Our entire team will make your visit as comfortable as possible. If you struggle with dental phobia, whether mild or intense, let us know. We will go above and beyond to make your experience in our office enjoyable and rewarding. For complex or lengthy procedures, we can administer nitrous oxide to help you relax.

Patients with a bad gag reflex, sensitive teeth, or dental phobia may need more than nitrous oxide, so Dr. Hauge can administer other forms of sedation. During short procedures, a light sedative is perfect. You'll remain awake and responsive. Patients facing more extensive work may wish to sleep through treatment. All procedures involving IV sedation will be performed at the hospital. In any case, sedation can save you from wasted time, trouble, and stress.

My teeth bleed when I brush. Should I be concerned?

You should never take bleeding gums lightly, but the condition may or may not require professional attention, depending on the source. Bleeding gums can be caused by improper, rough scrubbing instead of gentle, circular brushing. A hard-bristled brush instead of a soft one can cause gums to bleed.

If the problem persists, despite correct brushing and flossing methods, or bleeding occurs every time you brush, you may have gum disease, which requires periodontal treatment. We encourage you to call our Centuria office immediately to set up an evaluation appointment with Dr. Hauge.
